Mother Nature is the representation of all of Earth's life and spirit forces. As such she is powerful beyond the ken of most mortals or immortals but spends her time sleeping and dreaming. She will only wake at times of great catastrophe when something threatens not just a life but all life. Then the world will tremble as her cure can hurt almost as much as the disease.

Her own powers are largely unknown to mankind who have only seen her sleeping. If all of humanities nuclear weapons (15000) were detonated at once they would have a combined yield of 1,460 megatons of TNT. The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake released energy equivalent to 9,560 gigatons of TNT or 6500 as much. What could she do if she was awake?
Mother Nature has had many children over the years who represent a more manageable fraction of this power.
