Wonder Woman is a metahuman superhero based out of San Francisco. Not an Amazon but a human, she received her powers when visited by Desaad in the guise of Athena, goddess of wisdom.
History[]
Origin[]
Meg Rodi was an human who worked as a club singer in San Francisco. A transgendered woman, she had been born with a man's body and was a big part of San Fransisco's gay scene.
Meg believed she was visited by Athena, goddess of wisdom, who told her that she would be granted powers which she should use to bring peace to the world. In fact, it was the New Gods of Apokolips, who using her as a pawn to help invade Earth and recover the Father Box. Her powers were not magical but provided by the strange technology of the New Gods.
The Anti-Life Equation[]
When this treachery was unmasked, Desaad exposed her to the Anti-Life Equation to crush her will then possessed her and used her to combat the Justice League.
Desaad was banished from Meg's mind but the strain of the Anti-Life Equation had shattered her sanity. She was institutionalized for her own protection, first at BRASS then later transferred back to her native America.
Injustice League[]
Meg was freed from custody as part of the reactivation of Task Force X, an attempt by president Lena Luthor to create an Injustice League to oppose the Justice League. She agreed to work with the team and was happy to get a chance to once again battle her opponents in the League before she was defeated by Uncle Sam.
Appearance[]
Wonder Woman is a blonde woman whose skimpy uniform is red with gold details. Despite her physical strength she has a very voluptuous physique.
Powers[]
Meg can transform from her normal identity into Wonder Woman at will. In her transformed form, she has superhuman physical characteristics, including being able to lift a family car without blinking. She can also fly at faster than the speed of sound.
Meg is armed with a "Lasso of Pain": any being apart from her who touches it suffers strong sensations of agonizing pain.
Hypercrisis[]
During the Hypercrisis, Meg rejoined the Justice League, wanting revenge against the New Gods who had wronged her. During the final battle with Darkseid he removed the powers that the New Gods had given her.
